CORNISH KILTS

a traditional CORNISH kilt is made either so the pleated cloth, 8 yard kilt with about 6 inches in each pleat lying flat shows, the pattern of the tartan, or with 5 yards of cloth or:- the military style , which is cut ‘on the stripe’, when a specific coloured stripe, often red, is prominent. Cornish military kilts usually have the white stripe prominent so the back of the kilt is predominantly black and white. a lA DIES KILTS is different – a lady generally has a kilted skirt (see Ladies Wear) which has a lot less cloth so it is not as heavy as a traditional kilt, the brighter 10oz Cornish National Saffron cloth is ideal.
